WEIGHT REDUCTION
Weight reduction is a most important issue for aerospace applications. Composites are widely used on structures which require smooth surface finish. Commonly, fillers and putty are used to level the undulations/matty texture of composite surfaces. These materials add to the weight of the structure which is undesirable. We have introduced a low density ( SG of 0.95, lighter than water) Primer cum Filler ( MPC 50015/50019 ) for composites of Advanced Light Helicopter which resulted in weight reduction of about 30% when compared to the earlier products. |
